Howick Historical Village is a living history museum on 7 acres of grounds and heritage gardens. The museum depicts a settlement in the period from 1840 to 1880 and offers visitors an immersive historical experience.

Step into a world of Folklore and Fairytales!

Explore historic buildings and gardens brought to life by costumed villagers. Follow our fairytale trail, enjoy a live Goldilocks and the Three Bears puppet show, try calligraphy, and get crafty!

Visit Puhi Nui for coal range baking and sweet treats from the old-fashioned lolly shop. See the blacksmith and woodworkers in action, and join Victorian school lessons at 11:30 am & 2:30 pm.

Enjoy Morris dancing (11 am & 12 pm) and a bagpipe band (12:30 pm), plus outdoor games and family fun. Brunch or lunch at Homestead Café – make a day of it!
