Children’s Birthday Parties

Step back in time and experience 1800s New Zealand! Howick Historical Village is a magical setting for a birthday party!

Kids enjoy learning what life was like in the past and exploring the site and extensive gardens. With lots of green spaces, picnic tables, outdoor games and self-guided crafts, it is a great option for a unique celebration.

OR for the full Victorian Auckland experience, book an exclusive session with one of our costumed historical interpreters.

Decorate a space in the gardens and host your own activities (e.g. scavenger or treasure hunt). You can book external entertainment and recommendations can be provided.

Costs & times:

  • Discounted group rates

    • Adult $12, Child $8. Child under 5 free.

    • No charge for the birthday child and x2 supervising parents/guardians

    • Pay on the day by cash or EFTPOS.

    De Quincy cottage hire

    A neural refurbished room available for serving refreshments, storing gear and as wet-weather space. $200 +GST. It is a requirement to book this space. Advance payment required.

    Additional activities - $50 +GST except for the puppet show $150 +GST. Approximately 30 mins duration. All materials included. Advance payment required.

    Full day hire (10am-4pm). Set up from 9:30am.

    • Not suitable for children under age 5. Recommended age 7+

    • Supervision is the parents’ responsibility. Supervision must be provided at all times. Recommend ratio 1 adult: 5 children.

    • Any booked entertainment must be approved. Please discuss with us first.

    • Please note that the Village will be open to the public during your party and the self-guided crafts and outdoor games are used by everyone.

    • Max. number of children approx. 25
