Explore the historic buildings and heritage gardens, where costumed villagers bring the past to life. Learn about much-loved storybook characters and discover more in our fairytale trail. Watch a live puppet show of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, try your hand at calligraphy and get creative with fairytale crafts

Taste freshly baked goods hot from the coal range in Puhi Nui Homestead, and visit the sweet shop filled with old-fashioned lollies and fudge! The blacksmith will be at work in the forge, woodworkers in the carpenter’s workshop, and the schoolmistress ready to teach Victorian school lessons at 11:30 am and 2:30 pm.

With outdoor games and performances - Morris dancing at 11:00 am and 12:00 pm and the bagpipe band at 12:30 pm - there will be lots of fun for everyone! Have brunch or lunch at Homestead Café and make a day of it.
