Autumn has arrived at the Village, turning trees golden and russet colours. Explore the historical buildings and the heritage gardens. Try our Autumn orienteering challenge and have a go at crafts and old-fashioned outdoor games. Interactive demos with costumed guides take place on the weekends at 11am:
Saturdays 11am and 1:30 - VICTORIAN SCHOOL LESSON - take a seat the 1870s Ararimu schoolhouse for a 30 minute lesson with a costumed interpreter. Learn your 3 Rs and practice handwriting on slates. Make sure to stay out of trouble or face the cane!
Sundays 11am and 1:30 - BUTTER CHURNING - Roll up your sleeves and help churn cream into butter! Taste the butter on crackers.
Come along on the last Saturday of the month for a guided botanical garden tour at 1:30pm.
