You are welcome to choose any caterer you wish. If helpful, we can recommend suppliers who have previously worked at Bell House and provided excellent food. Please note that these recommendations are offered purely as a courtesy, and we have no direct relationship with these businesses or financial interest in suggesting their services.
-
Yes, we’re happy to provide recommendations for photographers, celebrants, and other suppliers on request.
As with our catering suggestions, we don’t have any financial partnerships with these providers or receive any incentives for recommending them — we simply share those we trust and who consistently deliver excellent service.
-
Yes, you’re welcome to decorate your hired venue to suit your event.
We do ask that all decorations are set up and packed down within your hire period, and that the space is left exactly as you found it. To protect the building, please avoid using nails, screws, or any adhesives that could damage or remove paint.
-
No, animals are not permitted on the grounds, with the exception of disability assist dogs as defined under the Dog Control Act 1996.
-
For the safety and preservation of our historic buildings, fires and open flames are not permitted anywhere on Village grounds. This includes cigarettes, vapes, and any heaters that use a flame. Bell House is a Category I Heritage Building and a treasured, irreplaceable part of our history, so fire poses a significant risk.
Caterers who require an open flame (such as for barbecuing) are still welcome — a designated concrete area outside Bell House is available for this purpose. We can also accommodate flames used in certain religious ceremonies; please enquire with us for further details.
Please also note that stiletto heels (with a point finer than 5mm) are not permitted inside our venues, as they can cause permanent damage to the floors.
-
Venue hire does not include access to the wider Village grounds, except for bridal photos and movement to and from your ceremony location.
If you’d like your guests to also explore Howick Historical Village, please let us know, we’d be happy to discuss group rates.
